A leading acute care hospital in Dallas, part of one of the largest health systems in the country, is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to lead its high volume Emergency Department. This is a chance to take ownership of a large, fast-paced ED with strong system support, a collaborative physician group, and a real voice in how the department runs.

Position Summary
The Nurse Manager of the Emergency Department is responsible for the daily clinical and operational leadership of a fast-paced acute care Emergency Department. This role ensures the delivery of safe, high quality, patient-centered care while promoting operational excellence, employee engagement, and regulatory compliance. The Nurse Manager oversees staffing, budgeting, quality improvement, and patient flow, and partners with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to achieve outstanding patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational and clinical leadership for the Emergency Department
- Plan, organize, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services
- Manage staffing, scheduling, productivity, and employee performance
- Build collaborative relationships with physicians, patients, and hospital leadership
- Develop and implement departmental policies and best practices
- Lead quality improvement, patient safety, and regulatory compliance initiatives
- Monitor department metrics, patient satisfaction, and throughput
- Assist with budget preparation and fiscal accountability
- Coach, mentor, and develop nursing staff
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Texas RN license or Multi-State Compact RN license
- Current BLS certification
- ACLS (AHA or ARC) and PALS within 6 months of hire
- TNCC, ENPC, or CEN within 18 months of hire
- Minimum 5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience
- Emergency Department leadership experience
- Experience with staffing, budgeting, physician relationships, and quality improvement
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Emergency Department Nurse Manager experience
- Experience managing high volume Emergency Departments
- Strong background in quality improvement, staffing, budgeting, and physician collaboration
Current ED Nurse Managers are preferred. Strong Assistant Nurse Managers with significant operational responsibility will also be considered.
