Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager 2 – Construction to support facilities construction and capital improvement projects in Houston, TX. This position will serve as a key member of the Design and Construction Management team and will oversee projects through the design, construction, implementation, and closeout phases.
The Project Manager will coordinate project teams, contractors, subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements.
The ideal candidate has strong experience with new construction, renovations, MEP infrastructure, facilities projects, and construction activities within active or critical operating environments.
Key Responsibilities

Develop project schedules and execute assigned projects according to established plans and milestones.

Manage construction projects involving new facilities, renovations, additions, expansions, and infrastructure improvements.

Review contractual scopes of work and evaluate the impact of client bulletins, field directives, design modifications, and schedule changes.

Develop project budgets, cost estimates, forecasts, and schedules.

Identify, prepare, and manage project change orders.

Prepare proposals and support negotiations through final pricing and approval.

Monitor project costs, schedules, risks, and overall financial performance.

Communicate project progress, issues, risks, and financial status to management and stakeholders.

Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and construction personnel.

Lead and participate in project and construction progress meetings.

Manage project assignments based on contractor and vendor capabilities.

Coordinate construction materials, equipment, and other project resources to ensure timely delivery.

Support MEP infrastructure and facilities-related construction projects.

Maintain productive long-term relationships with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.

Ensure construction activities comply with applicable safety requirements and project standards.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of construction and project management experience.

Minimum 5 years of management experience.

Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience within construction.

Minimum 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance, plant operations, engineering services, or a related environment.

Experience with new construction and renovation projects.

Experience managing MEP infrastructure projects.

Demonstrated experience managing project schedules, budgets, contractors, vendors, and construction activities.

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain certification within 120 days of hire.

Ability to work effectively in environments with evolving or undefined processes.

Ability to work in Houston, TX. Relocation assistance is not available.
Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.

Construction project management experience within critical or continuously operating environments.
-
Experience supporting energy, industrial, plant, or complex facilities projects.

Experience with MS Project, Procore, Bluebeam, Adobe, and Visio.

Strong knowledge of construction cost estimating, change-order management, scheduling, and contract administration.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced construction project manager with a strong background in facilities and capital projects. Candidates should have demonstrated experience managing new construction, renovations, MEP infrastructure, contractors, project schedules, budgets, and change orders.
Experience managing construction within active facilities, plants, industrial sites, or other critical operating environments is highly preferred.
