Maintenance Technician-2nd Shift

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support a fast-paced manufacturing operation in Fort Wayne, IN. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of production equipment, including CNC machines/lathes and mechanical presses.

The ideal candidate will have strong electrical troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills, along with hands-on mechanical maintenance experience in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical issues on manufacturing equipment.

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, components, and equipment according to applicable electrical codes and blueprints.

  • Diagnose electrical malfunctions and repair or replace faulty components.

  • Troubleshoot and maintain CNC machines, mechanical presses, and other production equipment.

  • Work with AC/DC drives, servo motors, PLCs, industrial control systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

  • Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic blueprints and schematics.

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.

  • Identify equipment problems and implement effective repairs to restore production.

  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts replacements.

  • Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and plant personnel to resolve equipment issues and improve manufacturing processes.

  • Follow established safety procedures and plant maintenance standards.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Approximately 4+ years of industrial maintenance or related manufacturing maintenance experience preferred.

  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities.

  • Hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing industrial production equipment.

  • Knowledge of electrical systems and industrial controls.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing CNC machines, CNC lathes, or similar machine tools.

  • Experience maintaining mechanical, forging, stamping, or similar industrial presses.

  • Knowledge of PLCs, AC/DC drives, VFDs, and servo motors.

  • Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

  • Previous experience in automotive, machining, metalworking, or another production-oriented manufacturing environment.

  • Strong electrical maintenance background is highly preferred; candidates with stronger mechanical backgrounds and relevant industrial maintenance experience may also be considered.

Schedule Requirements

  • Ability to work 2nd shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM.

  • Flexibility to work overtime as production needs require.
