Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated, patient-focused Clinical Pharmacist – Acute Care to join an inpatient acute care pharmacy team in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
This full-time position is responsible for supporting the safe, accurate, and effective use of medications while collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness.
- Compound and dispense medications.
- Monitor medication therapy for safety and effectiveness.
- Support formulary compliance.
- Provide medication and drug information to healthcare professionals.
- Participate in clinical pharmacy programs and initiatives.
- Document clinical interventions.
- Identify and report medication errors.
- Support day-to-day inpatient pharmacy operations.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other members of the patient-care team.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited program.
- Current Florida Pharmacist license or eligibility to obtain Florida licensure.
- Strong clinical and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of acute care pharmacist experience.
- PGY1 Pharmacy Residency may be accepted in place of the experience requirement.
- Candidates with a PGY1 residency and inpatient acute hospital pharmacist experience may be considered for higher compensation.
Compensation & Shift Differentials
Compensation is based on relevant experience, with an hourly range of approximately:
- $52/hour for approximately 1 year of experience.
- Up to $64/hour for approximately 15 years of experience.
- 2nd Shift Differential: +$2.00/hour.
- 3rd Shift Differential: +$4.25/hour.
- Extra Shift Premium: +$3.00/hour.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a licensed or Florida-license-eligible pharmacist with a strong clinical foundation and an interest in inpatient acute care. Candidates with direct acute care hospital pharmacy experience and/or completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency are strongly encouraged to apply.
