Position Overview

We are hiring a full-time Local CDL-A Truck Driver for a dedicated home-daily position based in Westfield, MA. Drivers will operate within approximately a 300-mile radius and deliver freight to stores and distribution centers throughout the Northeast.

This role offers consistent freight, daily home time, no-touch freight, and strong annualized earning potential.

Job Details

Drivers will deliver freight from the distribution center in Westfield, MA to locations in CT, MA, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, and VT. Drivers may also service distribution centers and pick up backhauls for return to the distribution center.

This is a slip-seat position using automatic day cabs. Trucks cannot be taken home, so drivers must have reliable transportation to and from the work location each day.

Schedule

Monday through Friday
Start times between 4:00 AM and 8:00 AM
Every 3rd Saturday or Sunday required
Daily home time

Holiday schedule may include working on New Year’s Day. Thanksgiving and Christmas are scheduled off.

Compensation

Average annualized earnings: $87,000

Pay includes:

Mileage pay: $0.489 per mile
Daily rate: $50, must work all 5 days to receive
Live stop pay: $14 per stop
Detention pay: $15 per hour
Trainee pay: $200 per day
Safety training pay: $20 per hour
Holiday pay: $200 per day

Actual earnings may vary based on miles driven, stops, training completed, endorsements, tenure, equipment type, number of days worked, and other activity-based pay components.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle on local and regional routes
Deliver freight to stores and distribution centers
Pick up backhauls and return them to the distribution center
Complete an average of 2 loads per day, including backhaul activity
Operate within a 300-mile radius of Westfield, MA
Follow all DOT, safety, and company procedures
Complete required inspections, paperwork, and communication with dispatch
Maintain a professional and safe work environment

No-touch freight
48’ and 53’ box trailers
Automatic day cabs
Slip-seat operation
No NYC deliveries
Approximately 1,697 miles per week
Approximately 10 loads per week
Backhauls are primarily live load

Requirements

Valid CDL-A license
Minimum 3 months of verifiable tractor-trailer experience
Hazmat endorsement required within 60 days of hire
Ability to commute daily to Westfield, MA
Availability for early morning start times
Availability to work every 3rd Saturday or Sunday
Steel-toe boots required for training and work
Must be comfortable with slip-seat equipment
Must meet all applicable DOT and company safety requirements

The cost of obtaining the Hazmat endorsement may be reimbursed after hire according to program guidelines. Steel-toe boot cost may be reimbursed after one year according to program guidelines.
