Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Construction Scheduler / Planner to support capital and construction projects within a large-scale industrial/energy environment. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules while collaborating with project teams to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
This is an on-site role requiring strong expertise in project controls, scheduling methodologies, and construction operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using industry-standard tools
- Perform weekly schedule updates and produce monthly status and analysis reports for stakeholders
- Conduct critical path analysis, identify schedule risks, and recommend mitigation strategies
- Manage baseline schedules, constraints, dependencies, and resource loading
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure schedule accuracy and alignment
- Support continuous improvement of scheduling processes, tools, and reporting methods
- Develop and maintain Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) based on project work packages
- Assist in tracking project progress, forecasting timelines, and supporting cost/schedule reporting
- Participate in project meetings and provide scheduling insights and recommendations
- Ensure adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience with Primavera P6 in a project controls or scheduling capacity
- Experience using Microsoft Project
- Proven experience in project scheduling, cost reporting, and project controls methodologies
- Background in facilities maintenance, plant operations, engineering services, or industrial construction
- Strong understanding of:
- Critical path method (CPM)
- Schedule baselines and variance analysis
- Predecessor/successor relationships
- Constraints and float/slack management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in project scheduling or project controls
- Experience working on large-scale or multi-site construction programs
- Familiarity with integrated project controls systems and reporting tools
