About the Role
A leading food services organization is seeking a strategic and energetic Resident District Manager to oversee a large K–12 school district in the Salem, Oregon area. This leadership role supports one of the largest school districts in the state, serving more than 43,000 students across 64 locations.
The Resident District Manager will lead overall district operations, growth strategy, community engagement, and team development. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong operator who thrives in a fast-paced, high-impact environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional food service within K–12 education.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day food service operations across multiple locations, managing employees both on-site and remotely
Ensure delivery of high-quality food service programs
Drive financial performance and achieve client and organizational goals
Build and maintain strong client and customer relationships
Develop and execute strategic plans for operational growth and service excellence
Foster a positive team culture and ensure standards, policies, and procedures are met
Oversee budget development, profitability, staff training, and performance management
Serve as the primary liaison between district operations and organizational leadership/resources
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years of management experience
Minimum 5 years of functional experience
Prior experience working in K–12
Strong leadership background with a proven track record of employee engagement and supervision
Culinary production experience
Strong knowledge of safety and sanitation compliance
Excellent communication, collaboration, and customer service skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Valid driver’s license required
Preferred Background
Strong financial acumen and analytical skills
Experience developing strategic plans and managing complex multi-site operations
Proficiency with food service management systems, reporting tools, and computer applications
Knowledge of Food Management System (FMS) and The Market Connection (TMC) is preferred; this requirement does not apply to external candidates
