IT Project Manager IV (Oil & Gas Infrastructure)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager IV to lead and manage large, complex technology initiatives within an energy and infrastructure environment. This role is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating enterprise-level IT projects that support infrastructure, cloud, network, and data platform initiatives tied to field and operational systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience delivering infrastructure and technology programs within the oil and gas industry, particularly those supporting operational environments and field networks. This role requires the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives, communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and drive projects from concept through successful implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate complex IT infrastructure and technology projects with significant organizational impact.
  • Plan, manage, and oversee all phases of the project lifecycle including scope development, scheduling, budgeting, execution, and delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, infrastructure, operations, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Measure and report project progress, performance, and outcomes to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation including schedules, status reports, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Support software development lifecycle activities including requirements gathering, analysis, system design, development coordination, testing, release management, and deployment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, vendors, and external partners.
  • Interpret internal and external business requirements and translate them into actionable project plans.
  • Apply industry best practices and methodologies to improve project outcomes, operational efficiency, and technology adoption.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 7 years of project management experience including at least 3 years managing IT-related initiatives, or 11 years of related professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale IT infrastructure projects including cloud platforms, core hosting, enterprise networks, and field communications systems.
  • Experience supporting technology initiatives within the oil and gas industry, particularly projects involving field operations or operational technology environments.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and project management tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience managing enterprise infrastructure programs including data centers, corporate networks, cloud migrations, and hosting environments.
  • Experience supporting data platform initiatives including big data environments or analytics platforms.
  • Exposure to Databricks or large-scale data analytics environments.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies including scope planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and communications planning.
  • Ability to lead multiple concurrent projects while maintaining quality, timelines, and stakeholder alignment.

  • Candidates must have prior experience supporting IT infrastructure projects within the oil and gas industry. Candidates without relevant industry experience will not be considered.
