Job Overview

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Commercial Construction Contract and Procurement Manager to join a growing Design and Construction team supporting large-scale infrastructure and capital construction projects. This role will report to senior leadership within Construction Services and will be responsible for leading procurement and sourcing of construction materials, services, and contractors for new builds, remodels, and infrastructure initiatives.

The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in construction sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiation, and procurement strategy, with a focus on operational efficiency and cost control.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Procurement Leadership

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with construction project goals and business objectives

  • Partner with project managers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to forecast and fulfill sourcing needs

  • Lead category strategy development and implementation for construction-related procurement

Supplier and Contractor Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with construction suppliers, contractors, and equipment vendors

  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to ensure competitive pricing and quality service

  • Manage performance of suppliers and contractors while ensuring compliance with contractual obligations

  • Identify alternative suppliers to create vendor redundancy and mitigate sourcing risk

  • Review and redline contracts to ensure corporate terms and conditions are maintained

Project Sourcing and Execution Support

  • Oversee sourcing of materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects including new builds, expansions, and renovations

  • Ensure timely delivery of materials and services to meet construction schedules and project deadlines

  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure sourced materials meet specifications and quality standards

Budgeting and Cost Control

  • Partner with finance teams to support development of project budgets

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings while maintaining quality, service, and project timelines

  • Analyze market trends and supply chain dynamics to adjust sourcing strategies as needed

Market Intelligence

  • Conduct market research on industry trends, emerging suppliers, and new construction technologies

  • Provide insights into new materials, equipment, and sourcing opportunities that support project success

Team Collaboration and Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and support junior procurement team members

  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, designers, engineers, and other internal teams

  • Foster strong relationships with external vendors and partners

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction sourcing or procurement

  • Experience supporting commercial construction projects including new builds and remodels

  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and communication skills

  • Deep understanding of construction timelines, materials, and procurement best practices

  • Experience managing supplier relationships and vendor contracts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications such as CPSM or PMP

  • Experience sourcing specialized construction equipment or services for commercial projects

  • Experience supporting procurement strategies across multiple construction sites or programs

Position Summary

This role is responsible for executing procurement category strategies while ensuring compliance with company policies and mitigating procurement and supply chain risk. The position collaborates with stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships to support construction project success.

Responsibilities include managing the RFP process, analyzing competitive proposals, supporting supplier selection, and ensuring effective communication across teams throughout procurement and project execution.
