Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Construction Safety Manager to lead and strengthen safety initiatives across multiple construction sites. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations while fostering a proactive culture of safety throughout the organization.
The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, commercial construction safety standards, and risk management practices. This individual will serve as a trusted partner to field leadership, driving continuous improvement in environmental health and safety performance.
Key Responsibilities
Identify potential hazards across active construction sites and develop practical mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with project managers and field supervisors to establish and maintain site-specific safety plans.
Ensure all construction activities comply with OSHA, DOT, and applicable state and local regulations.
Conduct routine jobsite safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across multiple projects.
Investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Maintain OSHA 300 logs and all required regulatory documentation and reporting.
Manage safety permits, certifications, and compliance documentation.
Oversee workers’ compensation cases and assist with return-to-work coordination.
Develop and deliver EHS training programs, including new hire orientation and monthly safety meetings.
Track employee certifications and ensure required training remains current.
Continuously evaluate and improve safety management systems and best practices.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction safety or an EHS-related role, or a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or a related field.
Proven experience in commercial construction safety management.
OSHA 30 certification required.
Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards applicable to commercial construction.
Experience managing OSHA reporting, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
Familiarity with workers’ compensation case management processes.
Strong documentation and organizational skills with attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to deliver safety training and engage field teams effectively.
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive personnel matters.
Preferred Qualifications
CHST, CSP, or additional safety certifications.
Experience overseeing safety across multiple concurrent job sites.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
Work Environment
This position requires regular travel to active construction sites within the region. The role involves a combination of field presence and administrative responsibilities.
