Overview
The Project Director will lead large-scale, complex power generation projects across the eastern region, providing full oversight of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) activities. This role is responsible for strategic execution, technical leadership, budget control, and multidisciplinary team management for projects exceeding one gigawatt in capacity.
Key Responsibilities
Direct the full EPC project lifecycle for gigawatt-scale power generation initiatives, including combined and simple cycle facilities.
Lead, mentor, and manage multidisciplinary project teams, including project managers, engineers, and construction supervisors.
Oversee planning, design, scheduling, procurement, and construction execution to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery.
Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to align objectives, resolve challenges, and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Manage project budgets, risk assessments, and performance metrics using standard project management tools.
Communicate effectively with executive leadership and partners, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout all project phases.
Drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement across EPC teams and contractors.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in engineering, project management, or operations within the oil & gas or power generation industries.
Proven success leading large-scale (>1 GW) infrastructure projects through the full EPC lifecycle.
Strong leadership experience managing cross-functional teams of 35–50 members.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
Expertise in project controls, scheduling, and technical documentation.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Solid understanding of ANSI, ASME, ASTM, API, and NFPA standards and HSE principles.
Preferred Qualifications
PMP certification preferred; PE license a plus.
Proficiency with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Power BI for cost, schedule, and performance tracking.
Prior experience managing combined-cycle or gas turbine (CCTG) projects strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt to evolving project scope or environmental conditions.
Work Schedule & Travel
On-site position based in Tulsa, OK with hybrid flexibility (four days in-office, one remote).
Regular travel to project sites required.
