Overview
Seeking an experienced Refrigeration Technician to maintain and repair ammonia-based refrigeration systems in a high-volume food manufacturing facility. The role requires strong technical skills, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to perform both preventive and corrective maintenance on complex mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Operate, monitor, and service industrial ammonia refrigeration systems in compliance with IIAR and ASHRAE standards.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on compressors, condensers, evaporators, pumps, and related equipment.
Troubleshoot system malfunctions and execute necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
Maintain HVAC units, boilers, and supporting utility systems.
Support capital projects and system upgrades, ensuring safe and efficient implementation.
Inspect, test, and maintain fire prevention, safety, and emergency response systems.
Complete maintenance documentation accurately and follow all regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure optimal facility performance.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial refrigeration or HVAC maintenance.
Demonstrated experience with ammonia (NH₃) refrigeration systems strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of PSM (Process Safety Management) and OSHA safety standards.
EPA Section 608 certification required; IIAR or RETA certifications a plus.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
