Overview
Seeking an experienced Controls & Automation Engineer to support design, programming, FAT, and commissioning of oil and gas facility control systems. The role requires strong PLC/SCADA/HMI expertise, instrumentation and control design knowledge, and field commissioning experience.
Responsibilities
Provide Tier IV technical support on controls and automation systems
Review, interpret, and redline P&IDs, electrical and instrumentation schematics
Participate in design reviews and ensure compliance with standards
Lead automation-focused PHA and maintain consistency in project documentation
Perform hardware selection, control panel interface design, and instrumentation configuration
Develop PLC logic for compressors, SCADA packs, fire/gas systems, ESD, generators, and related equipment
Configure SCADA/HMI systems including alarms, trending, and reporting (Wonderware)
Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for control buildings, panels, and MCCs
Commission complete station automation systems, including device-level testing
Maintain and verify cause & effect matrices, I/O lists, and control philosophies
Qualifications
7+ years in controls and automation engineering (oil & gas preferred)
Advanced PLC programming experience (SCP, ESD, compressors, gas control, safety systems)
SCADA/HMI configuration experience (Wonderware strongly preferred)
Strong instrumentation and control systems knowledge (design through commissioning)
Hands-on FAT and field commissioning expertise
Ability to travel for FAT and commissioning as required
