About the Role
A leading global manufacturer is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer (Engineer IV) to lead hands-on engineering initiatives across multiple North American production sites. Based out of either Jackson, TN or Orlando, FL, this high-impact role demands autonomy, cross-functional collaboration, and deep expertise in automation and robotics. Expect significant travel to support major capital and optimization projects at various manufacturing plants.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage automation and robotics projects from concept to implementation.
Develop project plans, cost analyses, timelines, and capital submissions.
Optimize manufacturing processes to reduce cost and improve efficiency through automation.
Execute equipment installations, FAT/PAT processes, and production ramp-ups.
Troubleshoot advanced automated systems, including PLCs, HMIs, servos, and vision systems.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure equipment meets operational targets.
Utilize Rockwell Automation tools and AutoCAD for system programming and documentation.
Manage procurement processes and ensure budget compliance.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (Engineering discipline preferred).
Minimum 5 years’ experience in automation, robotics, or high-speed manufacturing environments.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive projects to completion.
Effective communicator with strong project management skills.
Hands-on experience with Rockwell PLCs, HMI software, vision systems, and motion control.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AGV systems and industrial robotics integration.
Background in mechanical design, systems layout, or maintenance.
Exposure to data collection, machine networking, and real-time process control.
