About the Role

A leading global manufacturer is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer (Engineer IV) to lead hands-on engineering initiatives across multiple North American production sites. Based out of either Jackson, TN or Orlando, FL, this high-impact role demands autonomy, cross-functional collaboration, and deep expertise in automation and robotics. Expect significant travel to support major capital and optimization projects at various manufacturing plants.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage automation and robotics projects from concept to implementation.

• Develop project plans, cost analyses, timelines, and capital submissions.

• Optimize manufacturing processes to reduce cost and improve efficiency through automation.

• Execute equipment installations, FAT/PAT processes, and production ramp-ups.

• Troubleshoot advanced automated systems, including PLCs, HMIs, servos, and vision systems.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure equipment meets operational targets.

• Utilize Rockwell Automation tools and AutoCAD for system programming and documentation.

• Manage procurement processes and ensure budget compliance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Engineering discipline preferred).

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in automation, robotics, or high-speed manufacturing environments.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive projects to completion.

• Effective communicator with strong project management skills.

• Hands-on experience with Rockwell PLCs, HMI software, vision systems, and motion control.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AGV systems and industrial robotics integration.

• Background in mechanical design, systems layout, or maintenance.

• Exposure to data collection, machine networking, and real-time process control.
