Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Birth Registrar to join a hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit in Pittsfield, MA. This part-time, temporary role involves completing official birth and fetal death certificates, supporting unit operations, and assisting with various administrative and secretarial tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and file birth certificates and fetal death certificates accurately and in a timely manner
Provide clerical and administrative support to the Labor & Delivery unit
Interact with patients, families, physicians, and hospital staff professionally and compassionately
Maintain and enter data in EMR and state systems
Ensure strict confidentiality and adherence to legal documentation protocols
Requirements
3+ years of experience as a registrar, administrative assistant, or medical records professional
Active Massachusetts Notary Public license (must be bonded and insured)
High School diploma or GED required
Valid Driver’s License
Experience with Meditech, Microsoft Word, and Excel preferred
Working knowledge of medical terminology
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must be fully COVID vaccinated (dose on or after 10/3/2023) or willing to provide a documented exemption
Additional Details
No weekend or on-call shifts required
8-hour paid orientation included
