About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Labor and Delivery, Women’s Services to lead and manage a high-performing team in a busy acute care hospital. This is a senior leadership position that reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer. The successful candidate will oversee operations in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery units, ensuring safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide operational leadership for Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery units.
• Plan, organize, and evaluate nursing practice standards, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation.
• Direct the recruitment, hiring, training, and development of nursing staff.
• Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and cost management for the Women’s Services department.
• Implement evidence-based clinical practices and quality improvement initiatives.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, professional development, and high patient satisfaction.
• Collaborate with physicians, clinical leaders, and hospital executives on strategic goals and operational plans.
Qualifications
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina (or eligibility).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s Degree (MSN or related field) highly preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required.
• Minimum 5 years of RN experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership/management role.
• Experience in an acute care setting, specifically in Labor & Delivery and Women’s Services, strongly preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and decision-making skills.
